Fort Bend Women's Center: Superheroes

About the Event

In honor of Women’s History Month, we talked to the children of Fort Bend Women’s Center about who their personal heroes are and what it means to be a hero. We read a few pages out of the “Rad Women A-to-Z” book that zeroed in on some #SHEROES throughout history who made the impossible possible. As we read this, we and the kids used construction paper and an outline of a superhero to illustrate an image of what we would want our superhero to look like. On the side of that hero, we wrote a sentence outlining the kind of hero we could and would be. After learning about the qualities of a hero, like perseverance, courage, honesty, and selflessness, the children wrote their favorite characteristics of what it truly means to be a helpful member of their community.
