On Sunday, June 19, 2022, the Girl Up Southeast Texas Coalition held its fifth annual Regional Summit! Held at John Foster Dulles High School, we had 100+ attendees and managed to raise $4,000 for both Girl Up and local abortion charities! It was an amazing day, filled with engaging workshops, and awe-inspiring speakers. This year's theme was "Unleash Your Inner Advocate", and without a doubt, the combination of speakers, workshops, and attendance of absolutely brilliant people made for an incredible day of learning and activity!

Honored Speakers

Our speakers this year included Hon. Teta Banks (former UNA-USA National Chair and global human rights advocate), Ms. Heidi Brewer (NASA Flight Director), Ms. Nicole Minor (The Pangea Network Founder), and Shania Hurtado (intersectional gender equality advocate and 2021 Girl Up Teen Advisor). We were honored to have them talk to us, and they imparted a great amount of advice on how to be a better advocate.
