FBISD Global Issues Summit

On April 14, the Girl Up Southeast Texas Coalition held a booth on gender issues at Travis High School's annual FBISD Global Issues Summit. For 5 hours, 7 of our Executive Board and Club Presidents interacted with student attendees at the summit to touch on what gender inequalities still exist, what Girl Up is, and how they can get involved. We encouraged girls and boys alike to start Girl Up clubs at their respective schools, attend next year's Girl Up Regional Summit, and join the Coalition. We are working with teacher sponsors and students to expand Girl Up throughout the FBISD school district, and had over 50 students join our mailing list for future Coalition events and volunteering opportunities.
